About This Project
This project focused on turning PiKVM-based remote access hardware into a more deployment-ready operational solution for real infrastructure environments. Rather than treating PiKVM as a standalone DIY device, the work centered on adapting it into a cleaner, more maintainable product layer for practical use in small business and server room scenarios.
The solution combined custom-built PiKVM-compatible hardware kits with supporting software for centralized access management. On the hardware side, this included custom enclosure design and a purpose-built Y-splitter cable layout tailored for cleaner installation and repeatable deployment. On the software side, a lightweight internal service layer was developed to support centralized authentication and administrative control across multiple deployed devices.
As a case study, the project demonstrates a blend of hardware productization, infrastructure tooling, and operational software design — taking an open technical foundation and shaping it into a more usable, supportable, and deployment-oriented solution for real environments.
